Alex
Kane is the member and creator of Antiproduct. He comes
from the experiences with 'Life' and 'Sex and Death',
and the project 'Clam Abuse' with Ginger of 'The Wildhearts'.
Alex is affected by an unstoppable shock attitude; he
went around naked on (the roof of) a mini-van, stucking
the traffic in the heart of London for about one hour.
He provoked strong emotions, both in an affermative
or negative way, also during the Italian 'Gods of Metal
2002' breaking into a riot, lately stopped only wih
help of the security men. After "Made in U.S.A",
full-lenght realeased in April 2003, Alex and his band
will try to conquer Italy once again with a short tour.
You will find all the detail about the tour dates in
the section 'Live Events' of 'The Rock Explotion'...
Hi Alex, can you introduce the
band?
Marina, this is Simon. Simon meet Lady Clare. Lady Clare,
I'm A. Product. Milena this is Lady Clare. Marina, this
is Lady Clare. Lady Clare this is Simon. Marina Metallina,
I'm A.Product. Milena Yum please meet Marina Metallina
Ok,
this is getting stupid and we all know each other already.
Simon is the "Sexiest Man in Rock" in England
by the way and the girls are all Lesbians.
What "rock'n'roll"
means for you?
It means having a big d*** that gets hard when you want
it to. Especially when you're about to have sex.
Is there a band or a song which
made you say: " This is my way, I'll be a rockstar"?
"Teen Spirit." Just kidding. Van Halen, "Fair
Warning." Awesome guitar shreddin' sexy fucked
up heavy rock music. The best. "Sinners Swing."
C,mon. "Unchained." Shit, I just came. Check
it out.
Why did you choose the name Antiproduct?
Because we never wanna fit in with any other scenes
because scenes are just boring shit made for people
who need leaders. Do your own thing. All other questions
will answer themselves. Don't corporate whore your music
to sound like all other bands. Take a fuckin' chance!
Either that, or the name Doro Pesche was already taken.
Alex. I read somewhere that you
want to become the President of U.K.! Do you want to
do the same here in Italy. let us know which are your
proposal and maybe you will be elected President!
Actually, I'd like to be the King of England and given
the right set of circumstances, I could quite well one
day be King. First of all, I'd make all crime over $100,000
legal because if you can got taken for that much dough,
you got too much anyway. Plastic surgery would become
mandatory. Then I'd have all the men here (saying that,
about 85% of all English men are gay) killed just so
I could feel really wanted. Women would never be allowed
to shave and beauty would be determined by the longest
armpit hair...like in Italy. Just kidding.
Let's speak about "Made
in U.S.A."...
OK, what do you wanna talk about? It's our new album
and it's awesome and rocks like a hooker on a swing
in an earthquake. Abba meets Slayer. Let 'em figure
it out when I'm dead. Nothing's ever been heard like
it before.
Where do you find inspiration
for lyrics?
Cereal boxes, mostly, but some times I hear voices that
tell me what to do.
Who are the Antiproduct outside
the stage?
Just people like everyone else, except more like Caligula,
I guess.
Let's speak about the tour. What
are you expecting from it?
Hopefully really hot Italian girls covered in baby oil
and that's just Marina before we go onstage. No rules,
no inhibitions! I wanna know as an American that Italy
blows England away.
What is your opinion about the
rock scene today? What bands do you like?
I see a lot of music being sold that sounds exactly
alike and that makes me sick while genius like Devin
Townsend are still relatively unknown. What the fuck
is that shit? I like Ben Folds solo albums, a lot of
Stevie Wonder, AC/DC and currently, since we jammed
with Marky Ramone a while back, I can't get into the
RAMONES enough! Fuckin' genius. New bands that rule
are Sikth from over here and Mindless Self Indulgence
from the States. MSI is the best band in the world now.
What's about the Clamb Abuse
and your experience with Ginger?
It was either that or go back to jail so I chose the
harder task and made the album.
You were at Gods of metal in
2002, speak about this experience.
Well, it was just like all our other shows really. Why
do you ask? Actually, in hindsight, I took that one
a bit too far and I feel guilty now. Someone (namely
me) coulda got seriously hurt and it was unnecessary
and irresponsible and luckily the Security stopped everything
before it went from a riot to a blood bath. On the other
hand, this music is all about letting it all out of
your system, and for that, it was one of my favourite
shows ever! Everytime Halford saw me after that, he
turned around and walked the other way. We've played
better though.
Have you got a dream?
Yea, it involves me and Ashley Judd and 2 feet of garden
hose, a lawn chair and the planet Neptune. Never mind.
What are your project, after
the tour?
Me and Kory Clarke from Warrior Soul may record an political/shredder
album and then AntiProduct are going to the States in
the summer, which will be the stupidest of all stupid
ideas. Last time we played in New York was a few months
after "The Tragic Events" and while my full
heart goes out to everyone who died and all their families,
the US has been fucking with so many people's shit for
so long that, if it wasn't actually an American plan,
it was just a matter of time before someone said, "You
know what? Fuck you!" So, I'm ranting onstage,
drunk, of course, about how we deserved it and George
Bush is such a dick. Cleared an entire room in about
5 minutes. Everybody that was left partied till dawn
and then we smashed all the gear in the place.
After that, another AntiProduct album. Eventually, everyone
on earth will have an AntiProduct album.
Oh God! Kory is one of my idols...
Kory's an awesome dude. The dude's a fuckin' genius
and we have really good times together.
Fav drinks, fav pornstar, fav
fast car, fav five albums of all times...
I don't really get into porn too much. Keep in mind,
I have seen alot of weird shit in my life, let alone
being in a band with a 3 girls. Fast cars, sorry, but
who cares? Fave albums
uhm
Stevie Wonder "Innervisions",
Metallica "Master of Puppets", Janes Addiction
"Nothing's Shocking" (best concert I EVER
saw-1988, Chicago!), Cheap Trick "Cheap Trick",
Ramones "Road To Ruin".It'll change tomorrow.
Thanx so much Alex, something
to add? Say hello to the Rock Explosion's readers...
Yea, we'll see you soon. Be ready and be loud. Our gigs
are about you and we expect a celebration. I won't start
a riot this time. Promise. Well, maybe just a little
one.
